Department of Botany, Microbiology and Biotechnology
The department is the foremost department in S.R.T.M. University, Nanded started in 1950. The department flourished of Shri. V. Raghuram, Dr. B. R. Keshwan, Dr. K. S. Deshpande, Dr. S. W. Kaoture, Dr. S. K. Atkalikar, Dr. O. S. Rathor and know under the supervision of Dr. D. U. Gawai.
The Department of has started Post Graduate course in Botany in 1970. Later on some new courses in Agricultural Microbiology Industrial, Micriobiology. Microbiology and Integrated course in in Biotechnology Introduced at U.G. Level. The P. G. course in Biotechnology also started Recently.The students are attending the place in University merit list right from its establishment till dats. This success attracted the strength and developed the interrupt of students in Research. The dept. is recognized as Research Center & Research work can led out in the dept. is of high academic standard. |

The Research work carried out in the field of plan pathology, Mycology, fungal biotechnology, seed pathology, Taxonomy f Angiosperms, Ethonodany and interdisciplinary field as well. The dept. has produced 44 Ph. D. student and more than 190 Research Papers published in National & International Journals. Presently 12 students are doing. Research work leading to Ph. D. more than 30 major & minor Research Projects funded by various agencies completed in the dept. & presently 2 major projects & 3 Minor Projects are in progress. |

The teaching and research in the dept. carried reputation as a center of academic excellence. The dept. has organized Seminars, Conferences Work shops, at state and National level. The dept. has contributed in various extension activities for school students and farmers.
